Boathouse on the Bay in Long Beach/Seal Beach was such a great dinner spot. We went for dinner and everything was really good. Started with the shrimp tempura sushi and calamari, both fresh and a great start. The steak was cooked perfectly, nicely grilled and super tender. The lobster pasta was the highlight for sure, really flavorful and worth ordering. The atmosphere is upscale but still relaxed, and the waterfront view makes it even better. If you can, go around sunset, it’s a great experience. They also had live music, which added a nice touch. Parking is free. Overall, perfect for a date night or a nice dinner. Would definitely go back for a brunch.

First time going out for Mother's Day, so this is just based on expectations instead of comparison to other restaurant. So... for me, the roast beef was great. I booked this place for the unlimited oyster and my mom ate a lot of it. So that's a win for me. Loved the buttered cauliflower dish. My mom love the grilled brussel sprouts. I guess the veggie dishes they serve are fresh. So that's great. More fresh than the sashimis, although I 💜 the seared tuna sashimi. The sushi rolls were alright. Daughter said the shrimp cocktail was bland (but it's her first time trying it) and Mom said the cod was bland too... See the trend here? (Idk if they were going "safe" with flavor that day because of the occasion - less salt for older moms). But in the end, the $95/person buffet meal was worth it for me because my mom enjoyed her oysters. They deducted the reservation so that's nice.(Comparatively better experience & less hassle than the ones at Redondo Beach Pier on a regular day. Lol). The sunset view was great. I asked for window seats, but their indoor seating is smaller than their patio seating. I guess that's their setting for their buffet special. I wished I asked for patio seating instead because their patio is shaded. Patio seating does not look as crowded as the inside seating. Service was alright. Bussers were attendant. Our host though... Didn't start smiling at me until I was ready to pay 😔. So there's that discomfort of me thinking the-waitress-hates-me-and-doesn't-wanna-refill-my-water-because-I'm-cheap-and-didn't-order-a-drink-I-have-to-pay-for-myself. But gratuity is included already! Great service should be consistent throughout.

My husband and I were looking for a beautiful spot for brunch last Sunday. There was a short wait, so we decided to grab seats at the bar. To our delight, the bar had an amazing view and an incredible atmosphere. When our table was ready, we chose to stay and order from the bar instead. Every drink was perfectly made, the food was absolutely delicious, and the staff provided outstanding service. We will definitely be coming back and are excited to experience Happy Hour soon.

Fantastic ambience & delicious food. Server Nadia was very sweet. Loved their scenic view. We celebrated pre Valentine’s Day dinner.

Delicious quality food with great portion sizes. Beautiful view of the bay and workers are attentive and kind. Flavors could’ve been balanced a little better in the meal but otherwise delicious. They had gluten free and nut free options clearly labeled which was very convenient
