Following a Michelin Guide. I'm no expert in Southern cuisine, but what we sampled was delicious and made for a genuine introduction to the tradition. We ordered an appetizer — some buns — and two mains, one of which was the classic gumbo. Service was warm and prompt. The setting is anything but fancy — the restaurant is housed in a small private residence, which gives it a wonderfully cozy, unpretentious feel. No white tablecloths, no ceremony; just honest, satisfying food in a welcoming space. That simplicity is part of the charm, and it left me eager to come back and work my way through more of the menu.

Although the food was good and people liked the variety of cocktails ordered. It really wasn't that busy, especially for a Sunday brunch, but it took forever to get seated and even longer to get our orders taken. We sat for over 15 minutes before she got our drink orders and then another half hour before our food order was put in. I asked for the beignets to be brought out first, but they were brought out last. And really we're not very good! My husband asked for crispy bacon and it was soggy. The actual speed of getting the food once ordered was great. The rest of the food was very good. Probably just a server problem, but I won't be back

This place is an absolute gem. We arrived and were seated immediately. Our server was super attentive, gave us some great recommendations from the menu, and ensured that our entire dining experience was top notch. I wish I could remember his name because he really did a fantastic job. For our appetizer, we ordered the St. Louis Cut Ribs. We devoured them so fast, and forgot to take a photo. Even our superbly picky sixteen year old loved them! Absolutely delicious. Of course we had to try the Mac & Cheetos too. It was everything you could ask for when it comes to ultimate comfort food. Cheesy deliciousness! Finally was the Wild Mushroom Bolognese. The mushroom flavor really comes in pleasantly at the end of the bite. Just fantastic! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The staff, food, and atmosphere are all exquisite! Anytime we are in the Long Beach area, we’ll make it a point to visit!

Amazing! Great service, people are really the best over there! Atmosphere is nice, I see the love that put in the place. I stopped on Saturday for mini bites party with my fam, we were pleasantly surprised that they have Happy Hour daily and tried Mac and cheese, burgers, and the best donuts (!!!) Everything is amazing! Drink menu is good, we had sparkling Californian, AC/DC, espresso martini and whiskey. I’ll be back! P.S. they saved my purse! 😂🙏

Always on the lookout for a dog friendly restaurant for us and our pooch we came across this cute spot. They were a bit busy on our arrival but we were seated promptly. We waited a bit to order going over the menu lots of yummy options. We opted for the Shrimp and Grits and the Shrimp Po'boy. The server was friendly but you could tell he was busy so it gave the impression perhaps being understaffed that day. The food coming out to everyone looked amazing and so did ours when it arrived by a runner. The Shrimp and Grits were delicious perfectly cooked. The Po'boy however was a bit too salty. As if the shrimp and the batter had been seasoned instead of one or the other. It was a bit much for both of us . It also was served open faced which wasnt described on the menu. My husband is from the south so he really thought he would be getting a sandwich he could pick up and eat. Ordered the Ricotta French toast instead. A giant slice of bread, not sure what kind. Topped with ricotta and homemade fruit spread. Very nice but, I will say when it came out the sides were on the dark side and left a bit of a burnt aftertaste on the palate. I said nothing but watched my husband really only eat the middle out and a few bites of the crust on one side. I think it would have been amazing if not for that. But we didnt want to complain again. Maybe thats how its served here. Overall the experience was ok. Wouldn't mind trying again on a different day.
