Bedur Alshrif 2 weeks agoHad dinner at La Grande Boucherie in Chicago. Our server, Bane, was friendly, attentive, and provided good service throughout the meal. The food was generally good and enjoyable. The standout dish was the Branzino, which was excellent and the best item we ordered. The steak was not my favorite and didn't quite meet my expectations, though it was still acceptable and I finished it. Overall, the rest of the dishes were good and the dining experience was pleasant. The dessert was so delicious and yummy 😋
max xi 3 weeks agoHighly recommend this restaurant! The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. What made our experience even better was the amazing service. Our server Cailin, was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Great food, excellent hospitality, and a wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back!
Lilyadi 8 months agoWe went to La Grande Boucherie Chicago for a birthday dinner, and while the host at the front seemed a bit annoyed when we arrived, which wasn’t the warmest first impression—the rest of the evening made up for it. Once seated, the space felt both cozy and refined, setting the tone for a lovely dinner. We started with fresh bread for the table, followed by cocktails and a chilled bottle of rosé. We skipped appetizers and went straight to our entrées, each one delicious and beautifully presented. Our waiter, Andres, was exceptional, attentive, and impressively remembered everyone’s order without writing a thing down. By the end, he surprised the birthday girls with dessert, which was a thoughtful touch. Even took the time to take pictures of our group. A special thank you to our waiter Andres, for his attentiveness as well as providing a beautiful and welcoming experience. The service he provided and food turned the night into a genuinely wonderful experience.
Rick Gray 2 weeks agoThis was our first visit - Saturday brunch - and it was memorable. The first impression upon entering the space is amazing. What an incredibly beautiful building and interior. The windows to the sidewalk were open to the outdoor seating. It felt so European. We sat at the bar and had $25 bottomless mimosas, which were perfect (we got to dose our own juice) and a great value. Food was outstanding. We started with a ham and gruyere baguette that included a satisfying soft but slightly chewy bread. It was very good. We added the au poivre sauce for dipping, usually intended for steaks. Wow. Next up, we split single portion of boeuf bourguignon (generous portion) paired with the complementary bread and butter. Again, the bread had the perfect texture. The butter was whipped, salty heaven. Jorge and Lanores were welcoming, informative and helpful with our menu choices. We will definitely be back, as there is so much more on the menu we’re eager to try.
Walker 5 months agoWanted to try this restaurant and saw it participating on restaurant week. The place is beautiful and full of art deco stained glass. Remind me of the historic brasserie we visited in Paris. Perfect for date night. We started with French onion soup and it was delicious. Next was beef tartare was so small and came with 3 little pieces of toast. Beef tartare is supposed to be rich meaty and savory with smooth velvety texture. The taste was sad and not of high quality beef. The steak frites was not bad, but there are so many quality steak house in the area. The Boeuf Bourguignon did not come close to any family bistro in France. Some pieces of meat was tender and some were chewy. Could have been a great dish, very disappointed. Desserts was bland, not anything like the amazing French pastries at other places. Hope they improve the food. Would like to come back and enjoy the beautiful ambiance.
