My husband and I are visiting from Savannah, GA. We came in on a Friday evening about 4:30 and sat at the bar. Drinks are good. Service was good and friendly. I ordered the Cajun stuffed redfish which was amazing and full of flavor. My husband ordered the Cajun chicken Alfredo. This meal on the other hand was bland and tasted like pure salt. (Which is why I have a 4 star instead of a 5.) We were here when the live music started and the gentleman signing oldies like Frank Sinatra and Solomon Burke was great. He also played a trumpet, we would listen to him for hours!

Right on Canal in New Orleans and I have never walked in until today. I have been missing out. To start with, our server Javonda was a joy. From the first laugh and her southern charm, we felt right at home. It helps that she laughed at my jokes too. The drinks were NOLA strong and the food was extremely well seasoned. The red beans and rice was creamy and spicy and the shrimp po boy was fantastic. One of the better eateries I have enjoyed on Canal.

I recently dined at Blue Bayou and ordered the garlic oysters and the jambalaya. The garlic oysters were definitely the highlight—very fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. You could really tell the quality of the oysters, and they were easy to enjoy without being overpowered. The jambalaya was good overall, but for New Orleans–style food, it was missing a little depth and seasoning. It wasn’t bad by any means, just not as bold or flavorful as I expected. That said, the service was great—friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the experience enjoyable. With a bit more seasoning in the jambalaya, this place would really hit the mark. I’d definitely come back for the oysters and the atmosphere.

Yum! The food were well seasoned! I had the blackened red fish and grilled oysters. Both delicious! Sanaa took care of us and she was delightful! Very sweet and prompt. Great atmosphere with live music. You can see them grilling the oysters by the bar which is cool. Give it a try and thank me later.

Made a 9:30 reservation. We ordered chargrilled oysters (exceptional), stuffed Red fish and vegetables. Ordered Soft Shell Crab Po-boy, to find out 25 min later, after my husband's entre was served, they were out of soft shell crabs. I then ordered the Mardi Gras Pasta which I asked to pack to-go packaging. Our server was excellent with his cool hair and they have food runners with personality 😁😁😁 Nice to go packaging and received an apology from floor mgr for not not knowing their kitchen was out and allowing me to order an unavailable menu item, and soft if messed up or dinner experience, but I was happy with an apology because the Mardi Gras Pasta was soooooooo good. The oysters, my husband fish and the Mardi Gras pasta were all good. It's not high-end fancy, its chillin on the Bayou in there and it was just a fun vibe with the live singer and year dj performances, very lit and vibey. Restrooms were nice and clean. It was large party friendly because seating availability goes deep to the back of restaurant. We ended up dining here the very next night. Once again food was excellent. Different server, she eventually got us servered together and yes the food was great. Oyster po-boy fully dressed, Gator Bites 😋 😋 and another stuffed fish with dirty rice and seasoned vegetables (oh the goodness). We dine out a lot, we know this is the tourist fare menu, but it is definitely well-executed here. We visit nola often (6 7 times a year). We like this one.This was my birthday week and the week of The French Quarter Festival. Most epic and wonderful event.
