Flavia Salzano 2 months agoI really wanted to love this place… but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. It’s positioned as a fine dining experience, but the ambiance tells a completely different story. The space was very noisy, almost like a bar atmosphere, which takes away from the elegance you expect when you’re going out for a refined dinner. Service and presentation were fine, and the food itself was good, but nothing that truly stood out or made the experience memorable. When you’re choosing a place like this, you expect a full experience: atmosphere, service, and food all aligned… and here, it just felt disconnected. Overall: ✨ Food: good, but not exceptional ✨ Service: correct ✨ Ambiance: disappointing (too loud, not intimate) For a casual night, it could work—but if you’re looking for a true fine dining vibe in New Orleans, this might not be it. Would I go back? Probably not. When you go… tell them Flavia Sent You 💋
Leland Lou 3 months agoQuaint warm fine dining restaurant with a relaxed welcoming atmosphere the moment you walk through the door. Staff was extremely friendly & appropriately attentive. Food was served promptly with no fuss. The turtle soup was well flavored, but not spicy. The 3-course pre fixe menu offered a great meal value. The full menu was simple to navigate. Overall, an enjoyable place for friends or a special couples meal. The location is a block from the Morial convention center & an easy walk from several nearby hotels.
Gaston Hill 4 months agoThe gumbo was good, but the rice was not fully cooked. It was a bit underdone and hard. They did not warn me that the bowl would be hot, and I burned my hand. The pork chop tasted great and came in a generous portion. It also had a sausage inside. The crème brûlée has a lot of room for improvement, and I would not order that dessert again. They could also serve the cocktails with better quality ingredients. The service was good, and our server was very attentive and kind.
N. B. 6 months agoWe went to Galliano last night to celebrate my husband's birthday. We didn't have a reservation, but the host prepared a table for us very quickly. Our servers Josh and Brie were professional, personable, and courteous. We started with the baked oysters which were hot and flavorful. We both chose the three course menu. My husband started with turtle soup and I had the gumbo. Both were delicious. I chose the stuffed pork chops and he had the baked fish- yum! For dessert we finished with the bananas Foster bread pudding and chocolate brownie pecan pie, which were delicious. The food, the service, and the experience were all excellent. We will definitely return! Our cocktails were fantastic as well. We had the smoked old fashioned, caiprinia, and an after dinner cognac that was out of this world!
Kimothy 8 months agoMy wife, son and myself went for an early dinner on Saturday, Oct 11. We had 5:00 reservations but arrived early and were promptly seated. We wanted to take advantage of their happy hour specials on appetizers. They had raw oysters for $1.00 per oyster. My wife didn’t want any but after the first round of 6, we ended up getting 6 more because she enjoyed them so much. I could have sat at the bar and just ate these all night! For hot appetizers, we had the Wagyu arancini and the stuffed mushrooms. Both were amazing. The mushrooms had the most subtle hint of sweetness with the goat cheese and the red sauce with the arancini was a nice balance for these two dishes. We absolutely will be back to try the pork belly app in the future. For entrees, my son ordered the gulf fish with crabmeat and my wife and I split the pork chop. Wow is all I can say about that chop. It’s huge and super juicy. We had plenty of leftovers and my son devoured the fish. From start to finish, the service was fantastic. Paisley was one of our servers and Manny, one of the partners, was there greeting and talking with folks. Great cocktails and wine as well as chocolate pecan pie were also enjoyed. Please check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!
