TJ P 4 months agoI cannot say enough good things about my experience at Olde Nola Cookery. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by our server Jade and her trainee Shy. They were both so attentive and kind throughout our meal, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious. The gumbo was packed with flavor and the red beans and potatoes were a true southern comfort food delight. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, and it really showed in the taste. Not only was the food amazing, but the drinks were on point as well. The prices were very affordable, especially considering the high quality of the food and drinks. I will definitely be returning to Olde Nola Cookery in the future. Thank you Jade and Shy for such a fantastic dining experience.
B. H. a month agoDefinitely worth all the hype. Great place to go to, drinks were good, and food was really good. Had an awesome vibe, and the service was wonderful with Southern hospitality. Redfish was great, and especially the barbecue shrimp too. Portions were generous and everything was fresh will definitely be back.
Sabrina Bron a month agoThe food was exceptional, no complaints at all, I ordered the blacked shrimp poboy and it was excellent. Our waitress Alexis was super sweet, and accommodating. I will return to this restaurant. The drinks were good and strong as well. My brother ordered the rice bowl flight (idk what it’s called lol) but it was delicious. It was super busy and they were sure to serve us quick with no attitude at all. Make sure you try this place if you’re visiting New Orleans , it was the best restaurant tried along with best, and quickest service.
Rick Noble 3 months agoNot long after my wife and I checked into the Crowne Plaza New Orleans, we were ready for a late dinner. We started walking down Bourbon street because it was next to our hotel and specifically scouted a restaurant that had balcony seating that overlooked the activity on Bourbon ST below. The first restaurant we saw with balcony seating was the Olde NOLA Cookery AND, of the four, two-top tables on the balcony, two appeared open! Next, a quick review of the posted menu and moderate price-points made made for our quick decision to stay. We were instantly greeted by Chris, the Manager, as we approached the door. Chris was eager to accommodate and within 5-10 minutes secured one of the tables on the balcony. Once seated, we were greeted by Jade, our server, whose smile and friendly welcome made us feel additionally welcomed. Jade provided drink and food recommendations and we ordered per her suggestions. Both my wife’s crawfish Etouffee and my Redfish with sweet chili sauce were awesome! Jade even provided a few more best-eat places, also located in the French Quarter. The atmosphere, the staff, the food/drink and the restaurant itself is definitely worth the stop if you’re on Bourbon ST and the sites and sounds on the street below, pure entertainment. An awesome first night in NOLA!
Kar Explore 6 months agoWe stopped by this classic little New Orleans spot tucked near Royal Street/Bourbon Street, and the vibe is exactly what you’d expect from an old NOLA restaurant—small, cozy, and full of that charming, historic energy. The ambience was honestly one of the best parts: it feels like you’re eating inside a piece of the city, not some big modern restaurant. If you’re walking around the French Quarter and want that “real NOLA” atmosphere, this place delivers. Food-wise, we went in wanting to try the famous local staples, but some of it just wasn’t a match for our taste buds. We ordered raw oysters served on a cold plate, and we gave it an honest shot—but personally I didn’t enjoy it, and most of my group felt the same. We’re simply not used to eating raw seafood/meat, so it was more of a “try it because you’re in New Orleans” experience than something we’d reorder. The crab cakes were better—definitely good quality and not bad at all—but still a bit different from what we typically eat, so it didn’t completely win us over. The bigger wins were the fried items and comfort plates. The fried shrimp with red beans and rice was solid, and the rice/beans combo was flavorful and satisfying. The chicken strips with the same red beans and rice were my favorite—tender, simple, and honestly the most “safe but still delicious” choice on the table. For dessert, we had the banana pudding cake (or similar dessert in that style), and that was a highlight—sweet, tasty, and a great way to end the meal.
