Sunny Chen 2 months agoOverall Experience: We visited Amelia’s specifically for their wood-fired steaks, and the overall experience was quite enjoyable. The restaurant is remarkably clean and well-maintained. One detail I truly appreciated was the lighting: the overall atmosphere is soft and dim, yet there is sufficient targeted lighting over the tables to read the menu easily. It was such a relief not to have to use a phone flashlight just to see what to order—a situation my friends and I have encountered far too often at other steakhouses! The Appetizers: We started with three appetizers, all of which were delicious: • Wood Fired Empanadas: This was the absolute highlight of the night. They served them piping hot right out of the oven—so fresh and fragrant that they were almost "mouth-burning" in the best way possible. A must-try! • Pho Spiced Beef Tartar: This was paired with rice paper crackers, which was a fantastic combination. The crunch of the crackers complemented the tartar perfectly. • Apple Cider Braised Pork Belly: Tender and very flavorful. The Main Course: For the main course, we had the Wood Grilled Filet Mignon. Unfortunately, this was a bit of a letdown. The flavor wasn’t as distinct as we had hoped for a wood-grilled cut. More importantly, the execution was a bit confusing: the steak was overcooked, yet strangely, it was quite cool when it reached the table. Service: Despite the issues with the steak, the staff was very attentive throughout the evening, ensuring we were well-taken care of without being intrusive. Summary: Amelia's offers a fantastic atmosphere and incredible appetizers. While the steak didn't quite hit the mark this time due to the temperature and doneness, the service and the rest of the meal make it a place worth visiting in Tulsa.
David Hampton 2 months agoI sat at the chef's counter and was very impressed by the efficiency and camaraderie among the entire staff. Jake made certain my every need was met with total aplomb. I had the wonderful beet salad for a starter. The filet was perfectly cooked to a medium-rare. The asparagus had a pleasant smokey flavor and the potatoes were sublime. I definitely will return.
Cydney Davis-English 3 months agoAbsolutely wonderful dining experience! Gracious and attentive service. Fabulous food. Get the carrots! They’re roasted atop an onion Brie fondue that you will want to bathe in; so good!! And the Parker house rolls. Everything we had was wonderful. Great wine suggestions too. I was in Tulsa for a quick visit to do a half marathon. This was a pre-race treat. Will definitely visit again when I return to Tulsa.
Charles Michael Hinkle 9 months agoAmelia's was the perfect dining experience! Just PERFECT! The atmosphere is "Tulsa Chic" with history in a 100 year old building with high ceilings/ beautiful greenery everywhere, fabulous contemporary art and super comfortable seating of all variety's. Bar seating, banquet seating, high top and quiet little areas, lovely alfresco dining and this perfect private dining area in the back for up to 24, if you want to host the memorable evening event of the season! We skipped the enormous wine selection or cocktails as we had dessert in our future! We split the gluten free wood fired roasted beet and Miller peaches with Brie and balsamic pecan salad, a portion easily large enough to share as seen in my photos! The ladies split the Chilean Sea Bass with zucchini gratin, so once again my pics are the half portion and perfect presentation. Our waiter was fabulous , ask for Jenny as there was "no attitude" about skipping the wine or sharing dishes! Of course I'd recommend a reservation and request Jenny! Us manly men had the Campfire Atlantic Salmon with no splitting allowed by our appetites! The Salmon was absolutely stunning in taste and presentation! The asparagus and unusual hearts of palm/ artichoke cakes were similar to crab cakes with this delectable sun dried tomato cream sauce! Simply delicious with pine nut topping! I thought my beautiful bride of 50 years had chosen the dessert that would become my only disappointment! WRONG. The bananas foster and ice cream were a delightfully surprise! The flaming occurred in the kitchen, unfortunately, but the flavor of fired carmelization was almost indescribable! My deepest thanks to Amelia and investors ! This was a beautiful experience all around! Worth every minute and every dollar! Oh and apologies on the dessert pic! I just dove into it with haste since we were sharing and the pictures could just wait! LOL
Vickie Hall 7 months agoGreat dining experience. The food was delicious and well presented. Everything we tried was wonderful. For starters we had the shrimp and grits and the empanadas both were delicious but the shrimp and grits are next level. I highly recommend them. For the main dish we had the roasted sea scallops and the red deer. Both were so amazing. The scallops were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The flavor of the deer was wonderful and cooked to perfection. I had a wood cask bourbon and sherry drink that was exquisite (I highly recommend this cocktail). For dessert we shared the pumpkin bread pudding and the apple crisp and like everything both were wonderful. The dining experience here is one of a kind; all of the staff are attentive and so knowledgeable about all of the menu items. We are already planning our next visit and really want to try the 5 course tasting menu!
