We went to Cassis for our Anniversary. Amazing location and view by the river, excellent service, good wine list and drink options. Menu was a smaller list but the food were very memorable and beautiful presented.

One of the best burgers I've had in awhile. I will be returning just to get this burger again. It was cooked to perfection! It's easy to over eat on the baguette and butter, as both are wonder. The fries and dipping sauce were a unique flavor that I really enjoyed.

I had a great experience there. Food was fantastic, although a little pricey. Service was great. We had Loris (I may have gotten his name wrong), he was great and made some good recommendations. The decor was great, but the restaurant was a but dark and very noisy. Still, an excellent time. I would highly recommend

Classic New York and Paris vibes in downtown Milwaukee! The restaurant is gorgeous with a beautiful bar and cute tables! We were seated by the windows and got to enjoy the views of the river. The staff were all so friendly and made some great recommendations on the menu. We got a baguette and butter to start, the butter was so creamy and salty. We skipped other appetizers, though they all sounded delicious. We got the Pork Sausage Crepinette, Ravioli Dauphine, and some Pommes Frites with lemon rosemary aioli. everything was SO good, can’t recommend enough! The ravioli had a beautiful cheesy taste with the fresh pasta and I loved the shoestring fries with the lemony aioli. Would definitely get it all again! For dessert we split the Millefeuille a la banane, with creamy mousse and rummy caramel. We can’t wait to be back and try more! Everything was so good!

We accidentally made a reservation at Cassis in Florida (be careful when booking 😅). When we showed up, they kindly pushed us to a later time. We stepped out to grab a cocktail, and next thing you know, the hostess literally ran down the street to grab us and seat us immediately—huge kudos for that level of hustle. From there, the experience leveled out a bit. Service started slow—our server, a very gregarious Frenchman and also the sommelier, brought plenty of personality but missed some timing and key touchpoints throughout the night. You could tell he was juggling a lot, bouncing table to table sharing French “hospitality.” I’d love to have him in a room of less diners to truly appreciate his personality.. service suffers with volume and juggling both can be tough.. he did ok, but if he had a backup, the service would have been more punctual. On a positive note, the expeditor—new to the role—did a great job and was receptive to a quick tip on plate positioning to avoid a potential spill disaster. Always appreciate someone open to learning in the moment. Food-wise… mixed bag. Portions were pretty underwhelming for the price. A braised dish came out with potatoes and carrots that were oddly crispy and borderline undercooked. I would’ve said something, but our server was tough to pin down. The trout was excellent, though—highlight of the meal. Steaks were just average. Portions were small for the money. And while pomme frites are traditional, it felt like more of a profit play than a thoughtful side—I’d prefer a more composed, proper starch to round out the dish. Having worked in a French bistro for years under an award-winning chef, I’d call Cassis an average experience overall. My guess? They probably shine more at brunch than dinner—and that’s how it should be appreciated. Overall? Comme ci, comme ça *It should be noted that we are spoiled by La Reve in Wauwatosa. Portions, price, richness of food and overall “Bistro” feel hits more of the mark..Perhaps we will try Cassis again, but if I had another $400 to spend on Bistro fare, Wauwatosa may be our next destination..
