Laura Majerczak 5 months agoI've dined here several times when visiting from Michigan. I was wowed the very first time. Food was outstanding and the entertainment trio preforming 40's style big band music was excellent. Nothing has topped that first experience. The food has been great, the entertainment has still been pretty good....until my most recent visit. First thing I noticed is they changed the location of the stage. Not sure why. And the band was totally different. The female singer wore very little clothing, all black. Not classy at all. The music was a mixed bag and not the classic early 1900's vibe that they've had it the past, that fit the whole restaurant vibe. The food was pretty good. Grilled cheese sandwich was huge, tomato soup was average. Spinach dip was good. The Edison fries are not the same either. Just plain steakhouse fries. Not the flavor bomb fries served in a mini fryer basket like in the past. My sister & I got a table with a bench seat and 2 chairs across. We ended up together on the bench because the chairs are terribly uncomfortable. Server was good. Food was served quick. We decided we won't automatically choose The Edison in the future. The place has really gone downhill.
Vaughn Kerrigan 4 months agoHad an excellent night out at the Edison. We were lost and looking for a place to eat, and as walk-ins we were able to get a table of 2 on a saturday night after a brief wait, thanks to the excellent host. Got the truffle fries and the butter burger pictured, probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Alex was a fantastic server for our first time here, and even though it was very busy we were happily pleased by the service. Recommendations, refills, etc etc. Even with every table full, it never got too loud for conversation. I’d definitely come back.
michael burgard 3 months agoFood, Amazing! Drinks, Amazing! Service, Amazing! Truly every moment of our visit was top notch. Seriously, just stop reading the review and call to book a table. Go on now. There’s nothing else to say. It was perfect. Go! Your search is over!
Margaret Tomaszek Witry a month agoWe tried this place for restaurant week and were surprised. Like many places in the a third Ward, it is a former factory, but there is enough fabric for the place to be quiet to allow conversation without shouting. The dining week menu was three courses. We had the meatballs with mashed potatoes, wagu sausage in puff pastry, swordfish, pork chops with the best carrots I ever had, butterscotch custard with a pecan topping and lemon ricotta cheesecake. Portions were generous and tasty. We decided to add this as an option pre Skylight performances.
Dallas Whittington 5 months agoI’ve been here a few times and it’s always been fine. Nothing incredible but certainly not bad. My boyfriend and I went on Sunday evening and sat at the bar. We ordered the meatballs and squash salad which were both good. Then we ordered the ribeye to share. When I tell you this dish came out looking wrong immediately, I knew something wasn’t right. Meat looked grey, we ordered medium rare, and it looked like someone left it out for two days and then made it for us. We both took one bite to make sure and nearly spit it out (I should have). We sent it back to the kitchen and our bartender told us the chef tried it and said it was good. Fast forward to 3:30am and we both got sick. As I write this post on Tuesday morning, I’m still sick. I cannot believe a quality chef would feel comfortable sending out a $55 meat entree that looked like that and was clearly bad. I won’t be going back.
