Chef Brian’s Comfort Kitchen is THE spot for brunch in Tucson. The first thing I noticed when you walk is how eclectic the restaurant appears. The mismatched vintage furniture, flower plated tableware, and serve-yourself-beverage fridge immediately endeared me to the comfort vibe. As I looked in on the open kitchen, Chef Brian (formerly of Top Chef) greeted me with warm Southern hospitality that I might have expected in NOLA, but was a pleasant surprise to experience in Tucson. I had already scouted the menu and knew that I had to try his World Famous chicken and waffles. Previously a private chef to Hollywood royalty, Chef Brian is not shy with unabashedly declaring how good his food is, and from the first bite, I realized why he is so confident. The flavors are AMAZING! From the homemade blueberry punch individually sold in mason jars, to the perfectly cooked (crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside) chicken adorned on top of the hearty waffle, and the herbed mayo (soon to be sold in stores), everything Chef Brian served for my brunch was to die for! There is an extensive menu here, and I cannot wait to go back and try everything. Put this restaurant on your must-go list! Just make sure you come hungry, because I promise you, regardless of the massive portion sizes, the flavors you will experience here will make you want to eat every bite!

We were in the area and picked a place nearby. Turned out to be the best meal and experience we have ever had eating out! I guarantee we will talk about “Chef Brian’s” every time we get together. We ordered three meals and the 5 of us shared them and still had leftovers. The sides were as amazing as the entrees. Super friendly Chef Brian and his staff. I recommend this restaurant to everyone, maybe call ahead to be sure they aren’t sold out! You may want to eat in and order something to-go on the way out, because as soon as you leave, you’ll want more.

10/10 for the chef Brian experience. The food was super delicious, very unique, and it was served with a style and flair that you will rarely find in this world. Shout out to Cashmere in the back also adding to the vibes. This is our new go-to spot when we are passing through Tucson on our drive. Had the salmon cakes, chicken and waffles, and the delicious sweet tea and blueberry tea. Do yourself a favor and come visit!

Chef Brian’s Comfort Kitchen is truly a hidden gem in Tucson! The portions are HUGE — definitely come hungry. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The chicken and waffles were absolutely outstanding — perfectly crispy, juicy chicken paired with fluffy waffles that hit that perfect sweet-and-savory balance. Easily some of the best I’ve had. The fresh tea was crisp and refreshing, and the blueberry punch was incredible — bright, flavorful, and not overly sweet. You can tell they take pride in every detail. On top of the amazing food, the service was exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. If you’re in Tucson, don’t miss this place. We’ll definitely be back!

This has been one of my best experiences in Tucson. Right off the bat, Chef Brian is incredibly personable. His story is wonderful, and that alone would push me to support him. Secondly, the smell when you enter makes you feel like in a home kitchen (where someone who knows what they're doing is cooking). I grew up in Georgia, where fried chicken is a way of life. When the smell hit me I was immediately excited. The next 15 minutes were spent watching Chef Brian work his magic, as well as engaging me in a fantastic conversation. I ordered the chicken and waffles as well as the 5 piece fried chicken. I was expecting a normal fried chicken portion size, but ended up with enough food to feed multiple people. The golden brown crust looked incredible. Normally I would sit down and eat at the site, but today was a busy day and I needed to take it to go. That ride back to my shop was the most excruciating 8 minutes of my life! The smell permeated my truck making it near impossible to concentrate! When I finally got to the shop I wasted no time. I skipped the waffle and immediately bit into the chicken. The crunch was perfect! It is light and crispy the way it should be. The seasoning made my taste buds tingle! I almost bypassed the waffle all together! It reminded me of a small mom and pop chicken restaurant that my family went to frequently in Georgia. It was perfect! Ive been in tucson for 6 years, and before that 10 years in the metro area, before that 21 years on the west coast. In all those years, I have been unable to find what I consider true "southern fried chicken". I have now found it with Chef Brian. Thank you Chef Brian for not just treating me like a customer, but a friend. You have, what I believe to be, the best fried chicken in the western US! See you soon my friend!
