A different type of French cuisines. The place is unassuming, affordable and has local diners. Good service overall. The fried chicken is good, served hot. The bloody Mary with pickled okra is a bit bitter. The crawfish bignet is tasty, more cheesy than clawfish, worth a try. If you like sausage, you would enjoy andouille, a different kind of sausage like meat. If you like new orlean dish, you would enjoy the French soul food offered here. We like this variation from the most refined French dish.

Brenda’s French Soul Food delivered a solid dining experience with a few standout dishes and a few that didn’t quite hit the mark. Our party unanimously agreed that the fried chicken was the highlight—crispy, flavorful, and definitely worth the visit. The beignets were also a treat, light and tasty with just the right touch of sweetness. Some dishes were more middle-of-the-road. The red beans and rice and the biscuits were decent but didn’t stand out in a memorable way. Unfortunately, the shrimp and grits fell short of expectations and didn’t quite come together in flavor. Overall, it was a good experience with some hits and misses, and we’d rate it a 7 out of 10. Worth trying, especially for the fried chicken and beignets.

First time at a French southern restaurant. The flavours were all new to my palate. I had a crawdad beignet as an entre. It was delicious. Then for the main went for a chicken po sandwich with coleslaw. The serving sizes were large. I then felt like a sweet, so ordered the chocolate chip banana bread steamed pudding with cream. The place was very busy and noisy. I was there for lunch on Memorial Day Sunday. The wait staff were attentive.

Holy crap the food was delicious. I saw a post on tiktok about their Pride month specials, and had to take my mom when she came to visit. We got the Fruity Brioche Bliss, and she said it was 'the best French toast she's ever had' and I am very much inclined to agree. The mach and cheese was stellar, and the drinks were very tasty. I've already recommended it to multiple people and I'm writing this review before I even leave the restaurant, hope to be back soon!

Found this place on accident because Son and Garden (also excellent) across the street was full. Oh my Lord I'm glad for this serendipitous discovery! Had a hard time deciding because everything on the menu sounded good, but my server noted I could get a half order of French toast to go with something else so I got the butter pecan French Toast and the Eggs Poutine. The eggs poutine might be the most flavorful and decadent take on an eggs Benedict I've ever had. Mind blowingly good. I've been trying to find a breakfast place in San Francisco that can rival some of my favorite places in Montreal and this is it, might be my new favorite breakfast spot in San Fran.
