MJ 7 months agoThe whole experience was stellar. Pablo was our server, and it was truly the best service we’ve had in Washington. He was knowledgeable about the menu, offered fantastic recommendations, and made our dining experience feel really special. He was attentive and quick to take care of anything we needed. We ordered the steak frites, onion soup, and steak tartare, and every dish was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back here the next time I’m in Washington.
Bean Mota 3 months agoClassy, intimate interior with an equally sophisticated menu. Wide variety of options and a huge drink selection, especially for wine lovers. Our server was kind enough to offer having all of our dishes split into separate plates since my girl and I always share our meals. He also thoroughly broke down the menu so it’s safe to say that the service was elite. We started off with the french onion soup which was excellent and even had my non onion enjoying date swayed. We ended with the new york steak and braised beef, the ladder of which was exceptional. It had an amazing tenderness and texture that paired incredibly well with the rich, buttery mash potatoes. The steak was a little bit over peppered but cooked incredibly well with a very nice gravy. It melted in your mouth. The spinach with it was another highlight with brilliantly cooked garlic cloves integrated in to give it an incredibly unique flavor. Highly recommend giving this place a visit.
Cyndi Brunson 3 months agoI wanted to give them 5 stars cause I heard such great things but they just didn’t meet the mark. Perhaps it was an “off” day …. Service was lacking BIG TIME! The crispy artichokes were pretty tasty along with their complimentary bread. I wasn’t a fan of their tuna carpaccio. The server took at least 15 minutes to come and service our table. We opted to eat lunch elsewhere. We’ve eaten at many fine restaurants and I just expected more. They have a repetitive client base so I’m sure they’re not hurting for business. My daughter did enjoy her expresso martini. Check them out .. expect to pay some good dollars for the ‘experience’ :-). It’s worth it I’m sure when you get the attentive customer experience.
Dani 2 months agoMy girlfriend Ali and I had one of those meals you don’t stop talking about at Le Diplomate. From the moment we sat down, our waiter Nabil completely elevated the experience. Every recommendation he made, from appetizers to mains to dessert, was genuinely outstanding. We’re talking “20 out of 10” kind of meal. Each dish somehow outdid the last, and we found ourselves slowing down just to savor every bite. Nabil clearly knows the menu inside and out, and his suggestions felt thoughtful and spot-on rather than generic. We even joked that future restaurant visits might be a letdown without him guiding us. That’s how good he was. If you’re dining here, do yourself a favor and trust Nabil. You’ll leave very, very happy.
Skylar Kim 2 months agoThe food itself was a masterpiece—beautifully presented and full of flavor, perfect temperatures! Even the way Pablo, our server, described each dish was truly artistic and added so much to the experience. The atmosphere was just as impressive, with a unique and refined vibe that made the whole evening feel special. The only small downside was the host’s greeting—it could have been a bit warmer and more welcoming. Overall, it was still an outstanding dining experience, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for something beyond just a meal.
