Charles B a month agoI recently visited Georges French Bistro in Wichita, Kansas, and had a very enjoyable experience. For the appetizer, I ordered the calamari, which was excellent. The dipping sauce served on the side was the true star of the meal—absolutely delicious and full of flavor. For my entrée, I had the duck. It was tasty and well-seasoned, although it was a little dry for my preference. Since I visited during happy hour, I also tried their Old Fashioned. It was well made and quite enjoyable. The service was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant itself is beautiful, spacious, and has a wonderful atmosphere. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend Georges French Bistro to anyone looking for a charming French dining experience in Wichita.
Terry Yarbrough 2 months agoMy friends took me here for my birthday and I absolutely loved it. I had the escargo, and these seafood boyionase and my friend's head, lots of other things, it was a great treat. A head wine and liquor. And they also enjoy themselves. The only downfall to my experience that I had there was that, the waiters seemed very rush.We had to ask for the cream burley for my birthday. And he was quick to give everybody their check and not see if anybody wanted dessert or anything. And he did not offer dessert to the table, not dessert drinks, not dessert at all. In that aspect, and for the experience of that restaurant. I felt that the waiter should be more attentive and be more courteous and kind and offer either an after dinner.Drink or after dinner dessert. But he seemed to be in a greater rush. Overall, it was a great experience for my birthday. And I thank my friends for treating me.It was amazing
Frank Rebelo (Trucker TV Show) 2 months agoWe had a nice dinner at George’s French Bistro, with some standout dishes and a couple of notable misses. The appetizers were mixed. My wife’s baked Brie was excellent. Unfortunately, my escargot was a big disappointment. I love escargot and order it whenever I see it on a menu. This version came in garlic butter but served in mushroom caps, and the mushrooms completely overpowered everything else. I could barely taste any garlic and there was almost no seasoning or salt. It was one of the weakest escargot preparations I’ve had. On the positive side, my spring strawberry salad and my wife’s French onion soup were both very good. For our entrées, she ordered the Branzino, which she enjoyed. I ordered the ribeye medium-rare, but it arrived medium to medium-well. The server promptly took it back, and the replacement came out quickly and cooked perfectly. Service was excellent. Our server, Christian, was very attentive and handled everything professionally and pleasantly. We also enjoyed the cocktails — my wife loved both her espresso martini and dirty gin martini, and my old-fashioned was solid. We finished with the Berry Pavlova and the Crème Brûlée. Both desserts were absolutely delicious — a perfect sweet ending to the meal. Overall, the service and most of the food (especially the desserts, Brie, and cocktails) were strong, though the escargot and the initial steak were letdowns. We’d still come back and try other items on the menu.
Travis Truong 4 months agoDespite going on Valentine's Day, the service was efficient. The French Onion soup was decent, and so was the quiche lorraine. However, the star of the show is desserts since the opera cake was really good and it was presented well, which makes it a standout from a typical dessert from a restaurant and this restaurant is worth going for the desserts alone despite steep prices.
M Paullet 3 weeks agoDespite a heat index of 95°F, a whole wall was open to the patio, making the inside uncomfortably warm. The restaurant is unfortunately noisy. The food, drinks, and service were absolutely fantastic, though.
