I rarely write reviews, but this experience absolutely deserved one. I was on a business trip and this restaurant came highly recommended. When we arrived, there were no tables available, so we sat in the bar area — and honestly, I was blown away by the service. Multiple servers checked on us throughout the evening, making sure we had everything we needed. I’ve never received such attentive service while sitting at the bar. We ordered a bottle of wine from Italy, which was excellent, and the arancini were spectacular. For our entrées, we had the Mafalda Bolognese and the Pasta Carbonara. Both dishes were wonderful, but if I had to choose a favorite, it would be the Mafalda the red sauce was outstanding. We ended the meal with a cheesecake which was the perfect finish. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience and a great way to end the day.

The only issue we had is the menu online did not match the menu we were given at the table and the meal I was planning on having had to change. Paige took great care of us, knew the ingredients of dishes well, and made sure we enjoyed our friend’s Birthday Dinner. I had the Spiced carpaccio bruschetta for starters. Then crab ravioli with Miso & Carmalized honey crème brûlée for dessert. Pasta was freshly made with a “decent” size of crab with the current cost of food, and the crème brûlée had a very unique taste and texture, which was so good, I almost wanted to order another to go! Haha.

BLG is by far the best Italian restaurant I have eaten at anywhere. Amazing food wonderful service all in a very warm and inviting environment. The egg and lobster bruschetta we started with was recommended by our bartender and was simply elegant. Soft scrambled rich eggs with large chunks of lobster, cream cheese and chive folded in on top of a toasted slice of bread. Rodge’s second recommendation was the Bolognese with made in house Mafalda pasta. The Bolognese was rich and flavorful and the Mafalda pasta was perfect. We also ordered the Brussel Sprouts which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. For dessert Rodge highly recommended the Gjetost Cheesecake. Made from rich goats milk this was the best cheesecake ever. Besides every dish we tried being perfect the service was just as good. Friendly and efficient with style and grace. Plates were cleared quickly and quietly refilling water when ever the glass was half full. Do yourself a favor and get here as soon as possible you wont regret the decision or that you waited so long.

I’m obsessed with this place. It’s super cozy and has the best Atmosphere. I’m very picky about pasta and think people mess it up often but this was one of the few places in MN that really outdid themselves. The plates they have I wish I could steal but I’m a good person and would never do that. I did take a photo of the brand and will be googling the plates later. (Grandmacore) The service was also AWESOME. Michael our waiter was lovely and on top of everything. I also had the best most CRISP Sauvignon Blanc of my life. 11/10 for a hot summer day. The girls who get it get it. 🪩⭐️🍝🍝🍝🍷

I truly can’t believe I’ve never written a review for this place because it is hands-down my all-time favorite Italian restaurant and the best in Minneapolis, imo. I’ve celebrated so many birthdays here, but it’s also the perfect cozy spot for incredible pasta or a protein-forward dinner any night of the week. If you haven’t tried the chicken, you absolutely need to. It is THE BEST chicken you will ever order. It’s spatchcocked so it stays unbelievably juicy with perfectly crispy skin, and the Calabrian chili spice blend on top is unreal. The meatballs are another staple for me. I do miss when they offered half-portions. I used to get the carbonara AND the cavatelli with braised rabbit - I'm a more is more kinda gal, but now I actually have to choose. Hate it for me! I also wish they’d bring back the old pulled pork bruschetta. The new version has less meat and just doesn’t hit the same. That said, the Caesar salad and the charred onion & goat cheese bruschetta are still favorites. If you manage to have room for dessert, get the salted caramel crespelle. It tastes like a fancy Italian Werther’s and somehow feels nostalgic. It reminds me of my grandparents in the best way because they always carried around Werther's candies when I was a kid. And the service? Always impeccable. One time a server accidentally threw away my leftover chicken, not realizing I wanted it boxed up, and the manager was so apologetic and ordered a whole new one for me to take home. I was genuinely blown away. Highly, highly recommend checking this place out if you haven’t. You will not be disappointed.
