Leesh C 2 months agoWent around 11am on a Monday. Foot traffic picked up shortly after. $16 at Outlaw chicken for the 1/4 chicken quarter, fries and broccolini. I ended taking half home! Chicken rub has a nice sweet/spicy flavor. Each item was a 10 out of 10 with flavor! $7+ for the ube taiyaki cup at Neko Neko, topped with coconut flakes and matcha powder. $5 for the lemon lavender cupcake at Mercantile. Sadly the cupcake was overly sweet and extremely dense.
Macel Canterbury 5 months agoMy wife and I had a great time at Sawmill Market. We ordered pizza, pho, beer, and wine from four different vendors. They were all great for the price. The atmosphere was fun. We sat outside and they had staff to move and turn on heaters in the cold weather. Unfortunately they don’t seem to be dog friendly, they ended up letting us sit outside with our dogs but I don’t think they were technically allowed.
Mark Walling 2 months agoEuropean Classics was a new place w a lot to choose from. They didn’t have a menu yet as they are brand new. I tried th bangers and mash which extremely tasty and brought back memories of exquisite German food. Authentic tast and great new space.
Dominic Cadena 2 weeks agoGot a conchas sandwich w/elote from La Vida conchas and it was terrible. I ordered the street Asada and the meat was very chewy, and not seasoned very well.the sandwich was also very greasy to where the bread at the bottom was soaked and wet. The elote was also not your traditional elote, that was just ok. Even the service sucked. I waited 15mins and I was the only person there in line. The atmosphere is great, however the food seems a overpriced when I can get better somewhere else for less.
Table 7 Report 6 months agoOverall, this is a great place with a very festive New Year atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it to families, groups of friends, and larger companies looking to have dinner together. The vibe is lively, warm, and perfect for the holiday season. The main issue, unfortunately, is the service. I’m not sure why, but service seems to be struggling in many places here. I visited several spots inside the market, and with some of them it was very difficult to communicate at all. At a few locations, the attitude felt quite arrogant, and we simply couldn’t find common ground. On a positive note, the pizzeria is excellent. The guys cook pizza in a real oven, and I highly recommend it. The food is appetizing, flavorful, and high quality — truly top level. The overall food quality across the market is good. However, there were moments where service could be improved. The girl who served us seemed to be in a rush. I don’t want to say anything negative about her personally, but presentation and communication matter. I understand this place gets very busy, especially during the holidays, but maintaining a certain standard and saying goodbye to guests properly is part of good service. Guests don’t come “to visit” — they come to pay for food and service, to relax and enjoy their time. Unfortunately, not everyone seems to understand that. As for the sushi spot — it’s a small and decent place, but I wish the staff would communicate more clearly. For example, it would be good to warn guests that the salmon in the Philadelphia roll is lightly cured rather than fresh. I usually eat fresh salmon and often order nigiri, so this detail matters to me. Perhaps this is their standard approach, or they are not very deep into Japanese culinary traditions, but clearer communication would improve the experience. Overall, the atmosphere is perfect for a New Year visit.
