Joanne Yuen 3 months agoSuch a cool spot that we stopped by on our road trip serving up basque style food. Everyone there seemed to be locals and knew each other, so loved that small town feel. We ordered the ribeye lunch special served basque style and was not ready for the amount of food that was coming! Besides the steak and fries, we got a full bowl (not cup!) of basque style cabbage soup, baked beans, cottage cheese, salad, side of salsa, bread. We also ordered the small side of beef tongue which was delicious! Attentive service as well, and I had to get the basque cheesecake to go. Would 100% come back (and maybe just share the basque meal next time) if we do pass by Bakersfield again!
Peter Eberhard 2 months agoVintage perfection. Ever wish your favorite old place could be kept alive and thriving by someone who really understands and cares? Then this place is for you. Bonus: Ever wish you could go back in time to the now-closed-forever Noriega Hotel for the Basque boardinghouse dining experience? Well it’s here waiting for you. We enjoyed a Saturday morning breakfast at the reserved group table and shared “the set up” together chatting and making new friends. We will return and work our way through the classic Basque/Steakhouse menu (starting with the Oxtail) and a stop at their cowboy bar, replete with a brass foot rail, well worn through in some spots from over a hundred years of folks taking their 12 oz vacations. A must if you’re in Bakersfield and worth a special trip. The ghost of the now empty Noriega Hotel still sits forlornly half a block away if you want to explore and reminisce
brian bird a month agoI've been coming here for decades, and my parents decades before that. This review is regarding my last visit where I met a group of high school friends for HH. We sat outside and had a great time. The service was fantastic. The Happy Hour menu is amazing - great deals on food and drinks. And, the food was really, really good.

I had a chance to use Samsung's pro, with regular photographs from my Samsung S23 Ultra With S-Pen. Respectfully and sincerity Christopher Lee Acosta Krista Dela Strawberry Kris Acosta!"
Janesse Bojorquez 5 months agoWe recently hosted my husband David’s birthday celebration here, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place or its owner, Julie. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. Julie and her team went above and beyond to make the evening seamless, stress-free, and truly special. The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional all night long. Every guest felt welcomed and cared for, and so many of our friends and family commented on how great the service and atmosphere were. The venue was perfect for our celebration, and everything flowed beautifully. Thanks to Julie and her amazing team, the night was unforgettable. We had the best time, and our guests did too. If you’re looking for a place to host a special event or simply want outstanding hospitality this is it. Thank you, Julie, for helping make such an important milestone so memorable!
