This was our first time here, we had an interesting experience. First off, the food was okay, we ordered the fresh fish of the day. I noticed the fish was under seasoned, the vegetables were too hard, the rice did not have the best taste, and it was missing some of the mango salsa, which is one of the most important parts of the dish. We did enjoy the seafood pasta though, we thought it was nicely cooked and tasted delicious! The service was very slow, took a at least 35 minutes for it to come. They also gave us the wrong food, and did mention changing it to what we originally ordered. We noticed the atmosphere was beautiful! We had an amazing view of the beach, and even got to watch the sunset. I did notice that our table floor was quite messy. Apart from that the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. That concludes our experience, we would come back again for the atmosphere, and the beautiful scenery.

My mom and I had such a great experience here that we ended up coming back the very next day. The food was incredible, especially the oysters, which were so fresh and flavorful they were truly to die for. I loved them so much I ordered them again on our second visit. We also tried the Parmesan fries, asparagus, crab dip, crab cake, crème Brulee, key lime pie, and a salad. Every dish was well‑seasoned, fresh, balanced, and delicious. Nothing tasted overly fishy or heavy, which can be tricky with seafood, but everything was prepared perfectly. The atmosphere made the meal even better. The view from the restaurant is absolutely spectacular, one of those settings that makes you want to linger just a little longer. Kevin’s service tied everything together. He was attentive in a way that felt completely natural, checking in on us consistently without hovering. He kept our drinks flowing, stayed professional and personable, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. His energy elevated both visits and made the whole experience memorable. Highly recommend both the food and the service. Kevin truly made our meals exceptional.

1st time visiting this restaurant as "Tides Coastal Kitchen" and WOW! First, we were greeted by a friendly HOST for seating. Pleasantly surprised that KOA was our server as well....HE'S AWESOME! Our meals were delicious! The FISH & CHIPS, the SEAFOOD COBB SALAD & the GLAZED ROCK FISH! YUM! 😋!! Also, our appetizers: OYSTERS ROCKEFELLER, the HUSH PUPPIES & AMAZING SHE-CRAB SOUP...all excellent 👌🏾!! Can't wait to return during warmer weather to enjoy the great water views!!! I made date night reservations for 8pm, May 24th. We arrived almost 15 minutes early as we were prepared to wait—there was a party of 4 in front of us waiting for a clean patio table however we were in a rush. Once the party before us were sat, hostesses Colleen guided us to our table. We had been sat for a little over 5 minutes before being greeted with water by our waitress, unfortunately, I didn’t get her name. She was pleasant and helpful with navigating the menu and suggested recommendations, we ordered drinks and waited for her to return for our appetizer order. Our waitress returned almost 10 minutes later, explaining the bar was backed up but she’d go ahead and take our order, she verbally took our order, which was a half dozen of oysters and two orders of tacos. The time is now 8:27, still no drinks. She came over said our food was being plated it would be out shortly. Still no drinks. I go to the bar and ask if those are our drinks, the bartender stated the waitress would have to bring them instead of just saying, “hey, I’ll bring them out to you.” We waited a few more minutes and finally our tacos arrive, and I ask if someone could grab our drinks. They bring them to us and I ask about our oysters, this waitress explains the back up which is understandable and she sends our waitress over, who forgot to put the order of oysters in. As a previous server trainer, I had already knew we’d receive poor service. I’m no stranger to being in the weeds, triple sat outside my section with a backed up kitchen. There were so many missed opportunities, instead of walking past us numerous of times, she could have communicated the hold up, up front, set the expectations, check in and ALWAYS have a manager for a table touch, when the guests experience isn’t ideal, food coming out before drinks that took 30+ mins to get or oysters left off an order. We still tipped nicely as our waitress thanked us for our patience but I’d be remiss to not speak on my experience.

Came here the other night for dinner with my colleague and their family. The backdrop of Virginia Beach was the main reason this restaurant was picked, and a happy coincidence as I am a Marriot Elite member. Getting a table was quick and easy, service was friendly and attentive enough, no issues there. I had the Maryland Crab cakes, and honestly, I personally found them under whelming compared to my other experiences. Further to that, the kids meal pasta from my observations didnt really have any butter sauce. Regardless, been to many Delta/Marriot properties and this just didnt hit the spot that night. A positive; the restaurant during nice weather would be 1000000% a great spot for a view of the ocean when the patio is open! So, if youre ever visiting during good weather, definitely check it out!
