I stopped by Culinary Dropout on 7th Street after work for a solo happy hour and had such a great experience. I grabbed a seat at the bar, and Ms.Ronnie made the entire visit exceptional with friendly, attentive service and great recommendations. The happy hour menu was fantastic. I ordered the Maui Wowie, an Old Fashioned, the crispy Brussels sprouts, and the crunchy chicken tacos, and every single item was delicious. The drinks were well-balanced, flavorful, and perfectly made, while the food was fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor. The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for unwinding after a long workday. Even dining alone felt enjoyable thanks to the great service and upbeat vibe. If you’re thinking about trying Culinary Dropout for the first time, I highly recommend the 7th Street Phoenix location. The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding. Cool atmosphere, decent food, mediocre service. Not sure if it's that they were packed but the service we received starting from the hostess all the way thru the server was just not good. I'd been here once before and it was way better the first time around. Food was good, definitely recommend the chicken katsu, the butternut squash and kale salad, and the Brussels' sprouts. Would come back but if service is an issue again, that'll be my last time here.

I was there for an engagement party for my granddaughter it was very nice, my granddaughter and her Mom and future in-laws and her fiance did all of the decorations, and they did a wonderful job. The staff did the food and drinks, and it was very nice.

If you are looking for a venue that perfectly balances a high-energy "industrial-cool" vibe with seamless professional service, Culinary Dropout at The Yard on 7th Street is a standout. Having visited both the Scottsdale and Phoenix locations for private and corporate events, I am consistently impressed by their ability to host large groups without losing their signature soulful atmosphere. ​Service & Atmosphere ​During my most recent visit for a corporate Christmas party, our group of 12 was assigned two dedicated servers. Their diligence was remarkable; they were incredibly friendly and ensured that appetizers were flowing and drinks were never empty. I never once had to hunt someone down for a refill. ​The restaurant is expertly designed for multitasking. While our group celebrated, I noticed two other corporate parties and several families with children enjoying the space simultaneously. The layout is primarily an expansive, "indoor-outdoor" hybrid. To keep things comfortable, the patio is outfitted with modern concrete fireplaces and powerful heating lamps. You have your choice of seating, from traditional dining tables to cozy, lounge-style couches. ​ ​The food is elevated comfort at its best. My personal favorite is the Soft Pretzels & Provolone Fondue, followed by the Turkey Pastrami Sandwich on a pretzel bun. It is flavorful and filling without being overly heavy; you get a great meal without the "itis," leaving you with plenty of energy to enjoy the games! The "Yard" area offers Cornhole, Ping-Pong, Shuffleboard, and Foosball, making it perfect for both adults and children. ​Above and Beyond Hospitality ​The highlight of my visit, however, was how they handled a personal mishap. I accidentally dropped my plate, shattering it and spilling my deviled eggs and sandwich everywhere. I was totally embarrassed, but a server came over immediately to clean it up. They kindly told me, "Do you know how many plates I break a day?" and replaced my entire meal—including the appetizers—completely free of charge. ​While the parking lot can be a bit confusing to navigate initially (look for the complimentary valet!), the experience inside is flawless. Culinary Dropout has become one of my favorites; I highly recommend it for corporate events, private parties, a night out with the girls, or quality family time.

Culinary Dropout completely impressed me with how fantastic the food was. Every dish I tried tasted incredible. It is a great place for bigger groups too. We were six people and I noticed even larger tables enjoying themselves. The staff handled everything smoothly and stayed very attentive, which is not easy when there are so many groups around. I was so caught up in good food and good company that I hardly focused on the decor, but the whole evening felt amazing. I am already excited to return soon.
