Really excellent. The chicken curry platha appetizer was a great way to get started along with the mango salad. The salad was fresh, light, and very flavorful. The garlic noodles with bbq pork were also very tasty and you are able to add spice to your preference. The spicy sauce was not hot just for spice's sake and had a lot of good flavor. The star was definitely the basil chili beef which was fragrant and delicious. Definitely recommend this place for anyone in the sac area

First time eating Burmese and it was great! Had an appetizer that was a shrimp lettuce wrap that was quite different from the Thai wraps I know. I had the Mango Chicken that was deliciously sweet without overdoing it. My friends had the Lemon Paprika Shrimp which he thoroughly enjoyed and my other friend had the Tea Leaf Salad, a very interesting one. Also had the Burmese Black Tea I believe it was called that is different from the Thai tea as well. Oh we also had the coconut rice to accompany our dishes. I loved it. The portions are generous. The service is excellent. No space left for dessert.

This restaurant was wonderful! The dishes are family style rather than individual entrees, which made it easy for everyone to try a little bit of everything. The service was prompt and excellent. I highly recommend the Tea Leaf Salad; they mix it at the table. We also got the eggplant with garlic sauce (5/5), dry curry chicken (5/5), the mango shrimp (4/5) and the shrimp and caviar butter fried rice (3/5). The fried rice dish was very fishy and bland; not our style but still delicious. Their house chili sauce is divine but VERY spicy, so use it sparingly. Overall, a wonderful experience!

We went with a party of 10. Great service. Food is fantastic. Burmese food reminds me of the perfect mix between Indian and Thai food. We loved the black pepper lamb and the crispy chicken. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Not spicy unless you ask for it but still full of flavor. Curry is as great. Dry curry chicken was yum. Chicken and potato curry was good. Our least favorite was the mango chicken. The coconut rice is sweet and sticky. Some enjoyed it some didn’t. But the lamb was so good even the non-lamb eaters amongst us gave it a thumbs up! I didn’t get to take good photos by the time the dishes were passed to me lol but I did what I could. Elegantly casual vibes. Most patrons dressed casually. We arrived on a Saturday around 5 and the restaurant was almost half full. By 6pm the restaurant was pretty full. The food came out fast! We were hungry so we really appreciated it! We will return!

Took one of my closest friends out for her birthday. My first time trying Burmese food. She was raving about this salad the whole time. She said she gets one in Ealnut Creek where daughter but, she said she likes this one better from her birthday and definitely wants to come back for another experience at Chef Burma in Sacramento. I had the Shrimp Curry. The food ingredients taste very fresh and flavorful here next time I intend to try a curry dis theie pumpkin curry looked very tempting but, I didn't want to experiment too much on my first visit. Looking forward to going back abd trying more foods.
