After a bit of a chaotic first attempt due to Dine Downtown, we finally made it back to Ella—and I’m glad we did. The food absolutely delivered. We started with the steak tartare, which was excellent—well-balanced, nicely seasoned, and with just the right amount of garlic. For mains, I had the pan-roasted king salmon. It was cooked beautifully, though a touch saltier than my personal preference. My fiancé ordered the oven-roasted pork chop, and that was easily the star of the table—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly executed. Drinks were also a highlight. I ordered the White Linen, a refreshing gin-based cocktail with cucumber and lemon that was light and easy to drink. My fiancé’s Sip Into Something (tequila blanco with caramelized pineapple, lime, tamarind, and allspice) completely stole the show—complex, balanced, and honestly way better than mine. Overall, a strong return visit with standout dishes and great cocktails. When Ella is on, it really hits its stride and makes for an elegant date night!

We came here tonight for a special celebration. The restaurant has a warm ambiance, bright and welcoming. The fried chicken was ok, not something I would eat. For a teen, it hits the spot. We had devil eggs and bone marrow and both were delicious. My husband got pork chop and I got tenderloin. Both were great. Desserts and service were excellent. Top notch! We would return to try other dishes.

I visited this restaurant while in Sacramento for a conference and chose it for an important business dinner with a key client. The service and ambience were truly top-notch—exactly the kind of setting I was hoping for when selecting a well-rated, upscale venue to impress. I ordered a glass of Williams Selyem Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, one of the more premium options available, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. The wine was a highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the same standard. My salmon was fairly basic, and my client—an executive at the C-suite level—was similarly underwhelmed with his chicken dish. However the Gnocchi and Arugula salad were good. Given the overall reputation and pricing, I had expected a more memorable culinary experience and was hoping for the "wow" factor with the food.

Phenomenal dining experience. We ordered the truffle brioche bread service, steak tartare, baby lettuces, wood fire roasted romanesco, crispy fried half chicken, and wood fired brandt beef tenderloin. They also gave us a complimentary raspberry sorbet for dessert for our anniversary. Everything was amazing, locally sourced food highlighting Sacramento’s farm to fork scene. Truffle brioche bread was incredible, bread was soft and crispy, melted butter with truffles, it was our big surprise of the meal and a MUST get (great recommendation by waitress). Steak tartare was a good portion and refreshing. Baby lettuces goat cheese and strawberry pairing was delectable. Romanesco was good, especially the gremolata and relish it was served with. Crispy fried chicken lived up to the hype, best tasting breading on a fried chicken we’ve ever had. The beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly, crispy on outside and melt in mouth on the inside, and the sauce served with was exceptional. Service was A+, waitress was very kind and had great recommendations. Attentive staff provided refills. Our “Anniversary” was printed on the menu, a nice touch. Inside vibe is modern, upscale but not over the top. The shutters on the roof and walls gave it a homey vibe. We sat near the large glass window for a nice view of Sacramento streets.

Service at its finest! We came here to celebrate 26 years of marriage. Ella didn’t disappoint. Our server was amazing, even the menu had “happy anniversary”. The food was spectacular. The wine somalíes was educational. Thank you for such an amazing experience.
