Luke Nyswonger a month agoThis place looks like a whimsical, fairytale cottage dropped right into the city. The outdoor patio is fantastic for people-watching. We stopped by for brunch and had the poutine and steak. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and unique food. Great place for dogs too!
Megan Hobratschk 5 months agoA nice place for dinner! We sat outside at a table facing the road with a fire pit. The vibe of the restaurant was really cute! There was no wait on a Sunday around 7:00 pm. As others have mentioned, service was quite slow, but our waitress was very nice and well versed on the menu. We ordered the New Zealand Meat pie, which comes with a “tomato chutney” which tasted similar to a BBQ sauce. The Meso Tasty sandwich was good, but came with a wasabi aioli which we didn’t care for (but it was on the side so no big deal). The Cobb Salad was above average! Overall a cute place with pretty good food!
Lara C 4 weeks agoI had a wonderful experience at Queenstown Public House. I ordered the Steak & Fries with a Caesar salad on the side, along with a pilsner beer, and everything was delicious. The steak was cooked medium rare exactly as requested—tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The fries were satisfying, and the Caesar salad paired nicely with the meal. What really made the visit stand out was the excellent service. Both the hostess and our server were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the meal. I also loved the atmosphere—the decor is unique and full of character, creating a warm and inviting setting. Overall, a great place to enjoy good food, drinks, and a relaxing dining experience. I would happily return.
Sergio Fourzan a month agoWent for Sunday brunch, had a reservation al 12:30 pm and got seated right on time. Server was courteous and helpful. We sat outside, it was a bit chilly but they turned on the outside heater making nice. We had the Prawn and grits, first time ever and I loved it. We also had the Steak croissant Benedict, made to perfection. Finally shared a lemon custard with fruit. Great meal!!
Pana P a month agoI had the Queenstown Public House saved as a must-try place in San Diego because of its unique New Zealand cuisine. I stopped by for lunch and was able to choose my table outside, which I appreciate a lot! I stopped in for lunch, but I wasn’t too hungry, so I only got an entree. I ended up trying the New Zealand Meat Pie which was a hit. The puff pastry reminds me of Greek filo dough (if you’ve ever had spanakopita its that type of dough). The meat pie was delicious, hot, and tasted good. The fries were hot and crunchy and seasoned (I assume with paprika or a mix of paprika and other spices). The tomato chutney was delicious, i ended up just pouring it on my fries because it was so good, it had a perfect level or sweet and tanginess to it. I would warn anyone that if you’re very very hungry, I’d suggest getting an appetizer in addition to this dish. The atmosphere outside was really nice and the staff were very nice! All around great experience and Im very glad I stopped by during my trip to San Diego.
