Jacob White a month agoGreat experience if a bit pricey. Was traveling alone. Ate at the bar. I had the oyster sampler, petite filet au poirvre and the garlic mashed potatoes. They're 801 signature old fashioned accompanied both to greatest satisfaction. Would recommend for celebration dinner anytime. Extensive liquor collection at the bar with a charming remote control train above. See video.
Vic Victory 6 months agoWent there for a work christmas dinner on the 19th. There was about 20 of us. The room was nice. The server was nice and attentive. Very fancy looking place. We ordered a few appetizers in advance so they would be ready quickly when we all got there. We ordered oysters rockefeller, hashbrowns, tuna tartare, crab cake, scallops, and roasted marrow bones. I tried all except the marrow bones. Crab cake was good, scallops were very good, oysters were good. Hashbrowns were way over cooked. Burnt practically on the bottom. Tuna tartare was okay but I'm also not really a fan of raw fish but I tried so I could say I did. We ordered our entrees and sides and my wife and I ordered the 12 Oz filet Mignon. I ordered medium rare and she ordered medium. We had mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides and I also had a lobster corn chowder and she had a salad. She did not like her salad much as it was overwhelmed with onions. Like literally a pile of onions. My lobster corn chowder was absolutely delicious. Probably my favorite of the night. I loved it. Would recommend. Then we received our entrees. She also added a lobster tail to her steak and that lobster tail was huge. Now although the taste of the steak finished with truffle butter was very good, I must say that it was terribly undercooked. Raw practically in the middle. Like I could still see the rawness of it as if it wasnt cooked at all in the middle. Which is not medium rare. I worked my way through most of it though. My wife ordered hers medium and it was closer to what my medium rare shouldve been than mine was. So hers was also undercooked. Taste was good and they were tender but yea just really undercooked. Mashed potatoes were good. Overall I would say it was good but if I had paid for the dinner, I probably would be a little disappointed. Luckily it was all paid for by my work.
Megan Davey 5 months agoI don’t leave reviews very often but this chophouse truly stands out. The food was great, exactly what you would expect for this price point, but the service was over the top excellent. Our waiter, Ricardo, was easily the best waiter we have ever had. He was beyond knowledgeable on the menu and so attentive to each and every need (he would notice if I took a single drink out of my water glass and come refill it)! He even packages up a couple loaves of their bread and butter (to die for) and sent them home with us. We loved our experience and will absolutely be back!
Jason Cooksey 2 months agoIf you’re looking for a steakhouse that leans all the way into tradition and executes at a high level, 801 Chophouse absolutely delivers. This is the kind of place where the menu reads like a greatest hits album of steakhouse classics: prime rib, dry-aged cuts, rich sides, and over-the-top add-ons (yes, you can top your steak with foie gras or king crab… because why not?). The meal started with a wedge salad that set the tone immediately. Crisp iceberg, thick-cut bacon, and generous chunks of blue cheese, no skimping, no shortcuts. It’s simple, but when done right like this, it hits every time. Then came the star of the night: the prime rib. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare, it was everything you want, tender, juicy, and deeply flavorful. The au jus added richness without masking the meat, and the horseradish sauce brought just enough bite to keep things interesting. This wasn’t just a good steak, it was a “slow down and enjoy every bite” kind of cut. On the side, the loaded baked potato leaned fully into indulgence. Fluffy inside, crispy skin, and piled high with cheese, think cut bacon chunks, and chives, it’s not trying to be healthy, and that’s exactly the point. What stands out most about 801 is consistency with intention. The menu is unapologetically classic, the portions are generous, and the flavors are bold. It’s not trying to reinvent the steakhouse it’s perfecting it. If you’re looking for a steakhouse that leans all the way into tradition and executes at a high level 801 Chophouse absolutely delivers. Iz 2 months agoThe staff here is just amazing. My wife and I were in tonight and opted to share the delmonico and ordered it medium rare. It came out looking more medium/or well but before we even had the chance to comment on it to eachother, our amazing waitress Johanna swooped in, glanced at the steak, and said “that’s not medium rare. Eat whatever you can and we’ll get a new one going right away” without us even asking for it. I’ve been to a lot of great steakhouses and to be totally honest I thought the delmonico (despite being cooked to perfection the second time) was ever so slightly underwhelming, however, the sides and actually just everything else we had was absolutely amazing and jam packed with flavor. Regardless of the steak I am just beyond impressed at the willingness to re fire a $114 steak no questions asked on top of comping our dessert for our anniversary. We will definitely be back here again
