I had never tried this place before because I was a little skeptical, since I’m Italian. But I’m glad I did! The food is good. I came with a pretty big group, so we got to try a lot of different dishes and share them. That was fun. One honest note: I wouldn’t call this “real” Italian food. It feels more like an American take on Italian food. It’s tasty, but a bit different from what you’d eat in Italy. If you go in expecting that, you’ll enjoy it more. The place itself is nice and simple. The only small thing is that the music was a bit loud for us. Overall, a good experience and worth a visit!

I loved this place! Visiting from Birmingham, Al and a friend of mine made us a happy our reservation. The place is super cute and the happy hour deals were INSANE. I didn’t get many pictures sadly but did get one of the tuna crispy rice and calamari which were both great. We also got a pizza and did half pesto (UN.REAL.) and half meatball. the crust was amazing and the flavors were so unique! The spicy cucumber cocktail was also very refreshing and I could have had about 10 of them! The service was also great! Our server was super sweet and although they were obviously very high volume, she handled it with grace and still took her time to make sure we were taken care of. Highly recommend Forno!

Great Italian bar and restaurant with the best happy hour in town. Situated in the heart of the Short North, this place has a cool interior and superb atmosphere. Creative appetizers, pizzas and entrees. Try any cocktails, because they are all good. Staff us friendly and fast and they don't rush you out the door. Recommended.

We visited Forno Kitchen + Bar tonight to celebrate our 18th anniversary. We had reservations at 5:15 and were really looking forward to the evening. We each ordered a drink, along with two appetizers—the meatballs and bruschetta—and the Sicilian pizza for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious and definitely lived up to expectations. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. After our meals were delivered, I had to wait to ask for salt, and our table quickly filled with empty dishes that were never cleared. Our waitress didn’t check on us, and my husband’s empty beer glass sat for quite a while even though we wanted another round and needed to place a to-go order. We eventually had to flag her down just to order another beer, request a to-go box, place our additional order, and ask for the check. When the check finally came and I was filling it out, she then asked what we were celebrating. After I told her it was our anniversary, she offered strawberries—which, at that point, felt like an afterthought and a bit too late. Overall, the food was excellent, but the service was very disappointing and took away from what should have been a special anniversary dinner.

It was my first time to Columbus, so I asked the gentleman working at the hotel what restaurants he would recommend and Forno was top on his list. Our server was very personable and we asked him his recommendations. We started with the Mozzarella Sticks to start and I ordered the Chicken Marsala for my main. Both dishes were good. The mozz sticks were served with a great pesto sauce and marinara, though some of the sticks lacked cheesiness. The Chicken Marsala was fantastic! The skin was crispy and the meat succulent and juicy. It was served on a bed of mushroom risotto, which was adequate, but not up to par with the chicken and sauce. The restaurant itself is fairly noisy, so carrying a conversation was tough.
