The Flying Goose 2 months agoGreat food highly recommend for a business dinner I had the ribeye medium rare. It came out exactly as expected with a nice butter sauce. The Caesar salad was nice and crisp with a moderate amount of dressing, not over bearing. The freshly made croutons were a nice touch, I don't care for croutons in general but these were actually good. The pork belly appetizer was the star of the dinner. Rich and indulgent properly rendered fat. The calamari appetizer was good but a little too saucy for my taste. The brussel sprouts were my only complaint. There was too much bacon. I would have prefered maybe a 90% brussels to 10% bacon ratio it felt like it was 50/50. The service was excellent so I will know next time to ask for much less bacon. Ambiance and service were excellent for party of 6 of they had 3 wait staff for our table. Food came out hot, prompt and well paced
Vincent Lam 3 months agoFinally got to this decent steakhouse on the bridge in Short North. We came here for happy hour and early dinner courses were also available with some decent options. Bartenders were professional and friendly. WiFi is available. The bar got a crazy vibe and the fine dining room was romantic. But the restroom was too small. We tried several items. The filet mignon was the best with classic mashed potatoes and gravy. Medium temp was a little overcooked, so the medium rare could be the best. Other dishes tasted too thick for us. The margarita was too sweet with a low degree. I could not stand the weird taste of the lobster bisque, even though there were some lobster on the top. Our server helped us change to the French onion soup which also tasted too salty. The wagyu beef Carpaccio was fresh with high quality beef, but I didn’t like the wasabi on it. The wasabi covered the great flavor of the beef. Anyway, they were good at making steaks.
Kels v a month agoReceived outstanding service here yesterday after a last minute reservation on a whim. We gratefully ordered the Patrón en Lalique Margarita to which it was lovingly presented and explained. The cocktail its self was out of this world, smooth, gently sweet and bright. Both of our servers Markayla and Keanu (hoping I’ve spelled their names right) were both so kind and created a comfortable environment and were essentially perfect! The whole team including management were checking in with us frequently and they all worked well together as a team which wonderfully added to the experience. Even when I stopped in for an appetizer a few weeks ago I was given great hospitality so to come in and purchase a rare beverage and see that integrity both ways was reassuring that we will be back. It’s a hard time for many right now and restaurants create the space to relax and make memories and they’ve done just that. Our Japanese Wagyu was certified authentic and prepared perfectly. This type of hospitality is something that is getting lost in luxury dining but not here. Thanks again to the whole team!
Caiden Duskey 2 months agoDining is one thing that I don’t mind dropping a bit of cash on every once in a while because I think it’s a meaningful experience. I really love when a place inspires me with a dish that I’m unable to make myself, something I look forward to in a nice restaurant. I got scallops, and my partner got a steak. We shared garlic whipped mashed potatoes and spinach gratin. We also had a cocktail and shared a bottle of wine. The scallops were a special, and I thought they were very flavorful and cooked nicely. My partner got a steak, and was very unimpressed. A decent bit of the $70 steak was weird tendon and fat pieces, which caused him to have to spit out every couple of bites. The mashed potatoes were also very underwhelming. The spinach gratin was delicious, though. Aside from the food, the service was very wonderful. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Overall, not terrible. I just think you can get higher quality food for a much better price at many other places.
Jack L a week agoGreat atmosphere. The service was great! Drinks were tasty and cold. Steaks were excellent. It was a great time! Don’t forget the red velvet cake. It’s massive!!!
