Troy Tracey a month agoHidden gem! Nestled in a tiny corner of downtown Seattle is a place that even our hotel concierge didn't know was spectacular! On our twenty four day honeymoon that has already seen Boston, NYC, Chicago and Minneapolis, we have officially made this our best stop by far! We went in knowing what we wanted and came out eating the opposite of what we planned! James, our server, made our journey across the menu and dining experience flawless! Cocktails, appetizers, main and a surprise dessert, all with a show that my new bride loved. Working as a mixologist, my back was to the kitchen, and she watched and stated each movement and their precision, peripherally I could see this was an amazingly organized team! We want to say, if we ever get back here, you're our first stop! Thanks for the tastes, the libations and love that you poured in to our experience!
Ashley Trotter 2 months agoOverall, this was a very good meal. Our server was amazing. The food was decent. My halibut was a little tough on the bottom likely over seared a little. Potato croquet seemed an odd texture combination, though it tasted good itself, the whole dish lacked finesse and spice/salt. The drinks were really fun and tasty! The carrot cake seemed a little unbalanced. Carmel too strong and the cake a little too dry but overall pretty good. The donuts were fun and great! Loved the wine options almost all from OR and WA. They accommodated our dinner split check requirement for work (9!)
Emma H 5 months agoBuilt in the office district right next to the Spheres, this restaurant has a calm and comfortable atmosphere. The lighting and table spacing are well done, making it a nice place for conversation without feeling crowded. I came specifically because I saw duck breast on the menu. We were able to get a last-minute reservation over the weekend. For drinks, the zero-proof rosé was not great, it tasted more like sugary water with very little aroma. My friend’s winter old fashioned was ok. We later ordered a classic old fashioned, which was better. Some of the premium cocktails that we didn’t try are priced in the $20+ range. Both appetizers were solid. The kale salad was refreshing and exactly what I expected from the description. The octopus dish was generous in portion and came with sautéed kale, which added a nice texture contrast. The duck breast was what I looked forward to the most. Since it’s poultry, I ordered it medium. It came out undercooked. once we opened it up, the inside was mostly deep red rather than the usual cooked pink. We let the server know, and they kindly offered to reheat it. Unfortunately, even after reheating, I’d say I’ve had much better duck breast elsewhere, including another restaurant that’s only walkable distance away in the same neighbourhood. To make up for it, the restaurant kindly offered a complimentary dessert, a house-made donut. The chocolate mousse was extremely rich. Overall, the service was warm and attentive. That said, food is ultimately the most important part of a dining experience. This place is decent, not bad by any means, but not one I’d go out of my way to recommend.
Victor 5 months agoWas able to have a large team dinner here for 20+ people and they were able to create a long table to support the group. Food was delicious. Dessert missed the mark a little bit however but the appetizers and entrees more than made up for it.
Yummyeatsandtreats a month agoBooked a reservation for four for Friday night to celebrate a birthday. The directions to the resteraunt were somewhat confusing to follow. However there are multiple entryways, so even with some members of my party getting lost, everyone made it successfully. We were greeted by a tall dark haired gentleman who seemed very disinterested in hosting and did not give us a name. We were seated sandwiched between the wide open patio doors and the servers station, not great. ( Two members of my party where shivering by dessert time) Our server Amanda was delightful, she greeted us almost immediately after we sat down gave us her name and started us on drinks. We got a margarita, a 2120, a no bucks given, and a daylight savings. The no bucks given and the daylight savings where non alcoholic and clearly marked super convenient! All of the drinks were a huge hit. As a person who doesn't drink often and dislikes the taste I loved the 2120 spritz it tasted like a sour lemonade with a sweet topping. For appetizers we shared the burrata, the calamari, and the roasted rainbow carrots. The burratta was absolutely the star of the appetizers we almost ordered a second one! The calamari was a close second but a little spicy for some of my party do be aware when ordering. I was very disappointed in the carrots they were very tough and didn't seem fully cooked. The sauce was delicious and presentation of both food and drinks all night was delightful. For dinner we had two orders of prime New York Steak rare (leaning a lil closer to medium) and medium rare, an order of salmon, and an order of scallops. The steak was amazing and well prepared and the potatoes were amazing as a bed/sauce for the steak creating an delightfully tasty mix with the peppercorn glace. The salmon was well cooked and came with a great house made chive cream. The scallops were delicious and prepared very well, however my friend would not have ordered a full dish if he was aware of the the quantity to price ratio. There were only three scallops on his 40$ plate and lots of riced cauliflower. If we go again he will stick to scallops on the side and try a new entree. We also ordered a shared plate of Belgian frites and everyone enjoyed the seasoning and size of serving. For desert we were suprised with ice cream and homemade donuts still hot from the frier to celebrate our birthday occasion. This was such a delight! For dessert we ordered the tiramisu, we thought it was very rich and gorgeous. The carrot cake decadent and fluffy with just the right amount of frosting. The sorbet, guava and passion fruit that evening, was sweet but subtle. For those who drink their desserts the citrus cheesecake martini was even better than the 2120 spritz! The chef came out to check in on us at one point and to wish us a good night a very nice touch to our evening. Overall a somewhat rocky start saved by good food and a great server! If you are looking for a quiet evening with a convenient location, great drinks, and good food, I strongly recommend!
