Gaurav Hegde a month agoNue is easily one of the most unique food spots we’ve tried in Seattle. The menu feels like a tour of street food flavors from around the world, and every dish we ordered was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The portions were generous too, which made the experience feel even more worth it. The highlight for us was definitely the giant curry soaked toast topped with fresh herbs and cream. Super rich, flavorful, and unlike anything we’ve had before. The fried chicken and waffles were also amazing with the perfect balance of crispy, savory, and sweet. And the pineapple cornbread completely surprised us, lightly sweet, soft, and not overloaded with sugar at all. The seating is a little tight, especially during busy hours, and the prices are slightly on the higher side, but honestly, for a downtown Seattle spot serving food this creative and flavorful, it felt justified. The drinks, outdoor vibe, and overall energy made the whole experience even better. This is absolutely one of those places you come back to just to keep exploring the menu. Can’t wait to try more dishes next time!
Nathan Kam 2 months agoOn our recent visit to Seattle we made it a point to try all new restaurants. No repeats from previous visits and Nue was at the top of our list for its international flair. I booked a reservation weeks out and we got our party of nine right in for brunch on a Sunday. We just loved the vibe of this place from the moment we arrived. The decor. The ultra friendly staff who greeted us and sat us at our table. And I always love an open kitchen in the dining room. This was the last meal with family before we headed back home to Hawaii later that evening. So the goal was to order as many dishes as possible and share share share. We ordered the Tower of Chengdu Wings, Japanese Zosui, Burmese Laphet Thoke salad, Caribbean Pineapple Cornbread, World Butter Board and Beirut Hummus. Talk about a dance party on your palate. Every dish was so flavorful, thoughtfully prepared and so damn tasty. Broke da mout to be exact. The wings were amazing and packing heat with Thai chilies all over. I avoided the chilies and devoured the chicken. Yum. I loved the Burmese tea salad, cornbread and hummus. The World Butter Board is a must if you’re in the mood. They have a great selection of cocktails and beers too. The Kat Chai was refreshing and delicious…and the Rupee Beer Basmati Rice Lager was something I never had before. That was really nice as well with the meal. After we finished our meal we couldn’t help but notice all of the different collectibles displayed in the wall. This character with big red hair caught my wife’s attention. She was excited to find out they actually made shirts with the character on it…so we also left with some Nue swag. All in all a great Sunday morning for bunch here at this spot. Awesome food, excellent service and a paid lot right next door for convenience. I’m so glad we made it here and can’t wait to come back on a future visit. Mahalo to the Nue team for an incredible experience. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Mrs. Michaela Hall 4 months agoUpon entering this place is personally seated based on size. A home vibe. My first waiter was rude and inpatient with this being our 1st visit. Ran out the food I wanted and had to change options. However that coconut cornbread baby yessss. The food was absolutely worth it. I recommend and hope to be back!
Ralph Tayyar 7 months agoNue is a quirky and fascinating restaurant that truly takes you around the globe. You’re surrounded by eclectic international gadgets and trinkets, and it’s genuinely fun to look around while waiting for your meal. Speaking of food, it was exceptional. I don’t know how one restaurant can perfect so many cuisines. The cornbread is sweet and fluffy 🤤. The South African curry served in traditional bread is a beautiful balance of sweet and nutty, and the Balinese ribs are saucy, tender, and generously meaty. The addition of peanuts on the ribs is a total hit. Our server was incredibly kind and offered spot-on food and drink recommendations. Their drinks are also unique and absolutely delicious!
Daisy Dai 2 months agoI loved the brunch here and came back for Restaurant Week, but unfortunately had one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences I’ve ever had. The Restaurant Week menu is $35, while most regular mains are around $24. We weren’t surprised when the starters came smaller, but were shocked that the main dishes were less than half their usual size. This wasn’t communicated anywhere, neither verbally nor on the menu since the illustrations suggested full portions, which felt misleading. When we brought this up, our server responded with “What did you expect?” and said we were “already getting a lot of food for $35.” The conversation quickly became confrontational, with her repeatedly escalating with every response. At one point she asked, “Are we done here?” and lingered to provoke a response. We said we weren’t trying to be difficult, just that clearer expectations would have helped, but the interaction never de-escalated. What started as a joyful meal turned uncomfortable enough that we lost our appetite and asked to box everything up, including dessert. I hope management addresses both the lack of transparency and the way concerns are handled.
