I recently made my second visit to Birdies Barroom & Kitchen, and while I still enjoyed it overall, my experience was definitely a bit different this time around. My first visit was fantastic, but I was dining as a party of two then, whereas this visit was with a group of 18 people, so that likely played a role in the differences. The biggest challenge this time was service. Our waitress was pleasant and kind, but she seemed completely overwhelmed. There were several forgotten items, duplicate orders brought to the table, and overall it felt like she was struggling to keep up almost like it was her first day on the job. Large groups are tough, so I want to give some grace there, but it was noticeable. One thing that has remained consistent is the food quality, which is still very good. Both visits, I ordered the Brussels sprouts, and they continue to be absolutely delightful. I also ordered the Brussels sprout quinoa salad, which I absolutely LOVE. During my first visit, I added chicken, and this time I had it meatless and honestly, it was fantastic both ways. I did notice a few menu changes since my first visit. The rolls now came with a scallion butter, which personally wasn’t my favorite. On my first visit, they were served with a delicious honey butter that I really enjoyed, so I found myself missing that. The deviled eggs also were different this time around and were a bit saltier. I loved them during my first visit, but this time they didn’t quite hit the same for me. Overall, Birdies still delivers tasty food and a great menu, even if this visit wasn’t quite as seamless as my first. I’ll definitely be back because the food keeps me coming back especially that Brussels and quinoa salad.

Sunday brunch was such a vibe from the moment I arrived. The atmosphere was calm, inviting, and refreshingly quiet—perfect for easing into the day without any rush or noise. Even parking felt like a win; finding easy street parking on a Sunday morning set the tone before I even walked in. Once seated, everything just kept getting better. I started with the pull-apart bread, which was warm, soft, and impossible to stop picking at. Then came the shrimp & grits—rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Of course, the mimosas tied it all together, adding that light, celebratory touch to the whole experience. It wasn’t just brunch—it was a peaceful, indulgent start to the day that I’d happily repeat.

All the food and drinks were delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. We got the crab dip and pull apart bread to start, then I had the shrimp and grits and he had steak frites. His steak was cooked perfectly. We finished with baileys and coffees which were perfect. Unfortunately the service was a little slow but the food and atmosphere made up for it.

Diana was a pleasure from start to finish! Our party of three slowly tricked in due to parking and traffic and she had great patience with us. Great recommendations and highly enjoyable. The flight was great as well! Didn't get a photo of the biscuit bowl special as I dug in too quickly. Also they validate the parking garage across the street!!!

Food was average at best. We ordered the crab dip and deviled eggs as our appetizer. The deviled eggs were extremely salty and topped with pimento cheese. The crab dip was the best thing we ate on the menu. Very flavorful and cheesy with the right amount of crab meat and no fishy taste. The salmon was lackluster, no real flavor served on a bed of bland quinoa. The portion size was also extremely small for a $28 plate. The Mac and cheese is also extremely bland. No real flavors or seasoning besides the extreme saltiness from the cheese. Very disappointing. The service was great and the atmosphere in the restaurant is beautiful with nice seating arrangements, beautiful light fixtures from high ceilings. This place is more of an Instagram post than a place to get a hearty meal.
