I got the Oxtail Rasta Pasta with a side of Mac and Cheese and Collards while my son got the Chicken and Waffles. Insanely good! All of it! That was hands down the best Oxtail I’ve ever had and the pasta sauce was unbelievable. I cannot wait to visit again and try the rest of the menu but it’s gonna be hard to not order that pasta again.

I went on Good Friday around 1pm and it was packed in the parking lot. Parking is hard to find and once you find the parking it’s hard to get out. A fellow customer had to help me back out the parking spot so that I wouldn’t hit another car. I got 3 plats. An oxtail plate, a chicken plate, and a catfish plate. The sides I got were Mac and cheese, collards and cabbage. The oxtails were a 3/10 and it was drizzled with sauce instead of the oxtails having sauce and seasoning all over them while cooked. They literally just poured sauce on top. The rice and peas were a 2/10 - The collards were hard and slight bitter, the cabbage had a decent flavor but was way too soggy and greasy, the Mac and cheese was not homemade. All the sides mentioned were old so they were not fresh. I can promise you they use these sides for multiple days. The chicken plate came with drums and flats. The flavor and seasoning was okay 4/10 I just got them plain although I wish they would have plucked the hair off the chicken. The catfish platter was terrible. 2/10 the batter was soggy and unflavored. The actual meat of it was okay. I spent $67 and it was a waste. The girls cooking and taking the orders were nice. The people waiting on food as well were friendly. For how busy this place is I was surprised the food was as bad as it was. I’ll never go back.

The lemon pepper wings were tangy and crispyy. Also tried some sticky ribs and they fell right off the bone. The employees were so sweet. Just to note, we went on Friday evening and waited >20 minutes.

Absolutely please with the Pork Chop Dinner. The two Chops were tasty and tender. Fried to perfection 👌. The rice and peas were full of flavor 😋. The yams 🍠 were cooked just right. So happy to have found a awesome place to go for finger licking soul food.

I was in town for a concert and had a craving for some real soul food, so we tried Raleigh Soul Kitchen based on the reviews. I ordered the fried chicken, and let me tell you, it came out so fresh and hot it practically burned through the container 😂🔥🍗. The seasoning was perfect and the flavor was on point. There were a few little chicken hairs on a couple pieces, which was a tiny turnoff, but not enough to ruin the whole experience 😅. The mac and cheese and the greens were pretty good too. Nothing disappointing, just solid comfort food. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely visit again. The chicken alone is worth the trip 😌✨.
